Good Faith Estimates of Uninsured and Self-Pay Clients: According to law, health care providers and facilities are required to inform individuals who do not have or who are not using insurance an estimate of expected charges for services, including psychotherapy services. The individuals have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for expected costs of any non-emergency services.
You can ask your provider for a Good Faith estimate at any time during the course of your treatment, including before scheduling a service or at any point during treatment.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate.
